B2B sales outsourcing in 2026: models, real costs, and when to automate instead
B2B sales outsourcing explained: the four types of companies, real 2026 prices, a vendor checklist, contract red flags, and when to automate in-house instead.
Disclosure: This guide is published by Bitscale. Vendor prices were read from each company's own pricing page on October 21, 2026, and every figure is listed in the sources at the end.
The short answer: B2B sales outsourcing means paying an outside company to run part of your sales motion, usually outbound prospecting and meeting booking. In 2026 a single outsourced US-based SDR costs from $5,999 a month at CIENCE once its required campaign team and platform fees are added, and SalesRoads lists $11,950 per four weeks for one SDR. Before you sign, check how much of that fee pays for research, list building and data, the work a platform can now do. That is the third option: keep outbound in-house and automate the research layer with Bitscale, from $349 a month.
- Outsource when you need meetings in weeks, you have no sales leader to manage SDRs, and you're testing a new market.
- Build in-house when the conversations are complex, the market is long-term, and you can absorb about three months of ramp.
- Automate in-house with Bitscale when a founder, AE or small team can handle the conversations but loses most of the week to research, list building and data cleanup.
What is B2B sales outsourcing?
B2B sales outsourcing is hiring a third party to perform sales work that would otherwise sit on your payroll. The vendor supplies people (SDRs, strategists, sometimes closers), process (playbooks, messaging, cadences) and infrastructure (contact data, sending domains, dialers). You pay a retainer, a per-SDR fee, a per-meeting fee or a mix.
Most of the vendors priced in this guide work at the top of the funnel. They find accounts, find the right contacts, write and send outreach, and book meetings for your account executives. Some vendors also take the close, which means handing over the customer relationship.
Agency fees bundle two kinds of work. One is human: calls, replies, objection handling. The other is research and data: building the list, finding verified emails and mobiles, spotting a reason to reach out, and drafting the first line. The second kind is what Bitscale automates, which is why this guide treats "automate it in-house" as a real alternative rather than an afterthought.
Types of B2B sales outsourcing companies
"B2B sales outsourcing companies" covers four different businesses. Knowing which one you need saves most of the evaluation time.
Outsourced SDR and appointment-setting agencies
What they do: dedicated or shared SDRs prospect by phone, email and LinkedIn and book meetings on your reps' calendars.
How they price: per SDR per month, a flat managed fee, or a fee per held meeting, often with a bonus. Examples from vendors' own pages:
- CIENCE lists SDRs from $1,750 per month offshore and $3,500 in the US and Europe, plus a required campaign team at $2,000 a month and its graph8 platform at $499 a month. A performance bonus is paid on top once an SDR reaches 60% of the monthly held-meeting target, and setup is a one-time fee whose amount isn't published. Contracts are month to month.
- SalesRoads lists one SDR at $11,950 per four-week period and two at $16,750, with "500 records per SDR per month" of prospect data, and no long-term commitment.
- SalesHive custom-quotes its Starter, Growth and Crush plans as one flat monthly fee covering the SDR team, a strategist, its platform, data and list building. It states there are no setup fees and does not guarantee a number of meetings.
- Belkins sells monthly retainer packages sized by yearly appointment targets (30+, 100+ and 200+) and asks you to contact sales for prices.
Best for: companies that need pipeline within a quarter and have AEs ready to take meetings.
Full-cycle outsourced sales teams
What they do: the vendor supplies SDRs and closers, sometimes a sales manager, and runs the motion from first touch to signed contract.
Best for: entering a new region or segment before hiring locally, or selling a simple, repeatable product. Full-cycle outsourcing hands over the customer relationship, so it carries more risk than outsourcing the top of the funnel.
Lead generation and list-building agencies
What they do: deliver researched lists of accounts and contacts, sometimes with verified emails and phone numbers. They don't send outreach or take meetings.
Best for: teams that already have SDRs and sending infrastructure but lack research time. It's also the work a platform can take over most directly. If you're weighing a list vendor against building lists yourself, our lead list building guide covers the in-house steps.
GTM engineering agencies
What they do: build the system rather than run the outreach: data enrichment waterfalls, signal tracking, CRM workflows and automated sequences, handed over for your team to operate.
Best for: companies that want to own outbound but need help building it once. Some outbound consultancies build on data platforms: ScaleStation, a London B2B growth and sales consultancy, runs its HubSpot enrichment on Bitscale, and Bitscale's Enterprise plan is listed "For Agencies & Enterprises". For a shortlist of named partners, see our roundup of the best GTM agencies.
How much does B2B sales outsourcing cost?
Sales outsourcing cost depends on SDR location, channels and volume. Published prices are rare, so the table below uses only vendors that publish them, next to the cost of a median in-house SDR and a Bitscale plan.
| Option | Published price | What's included | Not included |
|---|---|---|---|
| CIENCE, 1 US or Europe SDR | From $5,999/mo ($3,500 SDR + $2,000 campaign team + $499 platform) | SDR, campaign management, platform with 75,000 credits/mo | Performance bonus; one-time setup fee (amount not published) |
| CIENCE, 1 offshore SDR | From $4,249/mo ($1,750 + $2,000 + $499) | As above | As above |
| SalesRoads, 1 SDR | $11,950 per 4 weeks | SDR, strategist, coach, research and data team, 500 records/SDR/mo, CRM integration | Inbound appointment setting and account reactivation (add-ons) |
| In-house SDR (median) | $80,000 OTE: $55,000 base + $25,000 variable | One full-time SDR | Benefits, tools, recruiting, management |
| Bitscale Growth | $349/mo ($314 billed annually) | 15,000 credits/mo, AI research agent, waterfall enrichment, playbooks, two-way HubSpot sync, GTM engineer support | The person who calls and replies |

What an in-house SDR really costs
The Bridge Group's 2025 SDR report, based on 351 B2B companies, puts median SDR on-target earnings at $80,000, unchanged since 2022. Salary is only part of the cost. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that benefits made up 30.0% of private-industry employer compensation costs in June 2026, with wages and salaries at 70.0%.
As an illustration only: if benefits for an SDR follow that private-industry average, $80,000 ÷ 0.70 = about $114,286 a year, or about $9,524 a month, before tools, recruiting and management time. The same report puts average ramp at 3.0 months, average tenure at 1.9 years and median annual attrition at 40%, so you will likely re-hire and re-ramp within two years.
What outsourcing really costs over a year
As an illustration only, using list prices:
- CIENCE, one US SDR: $5,999 × 12 = $71,988 a year, plus bonuses and setup.
- SalesRoads, one SDR: $11,950 × 13 four-week periods = $155,350 a year.
- Bitscale Growth: $349 × 12 = $4,188 a year, or $314 × 12 = $3,768 on annual billing.
These aren't like-for-like. Bitscale doesn't make calls or reply to prospects. What the numbers show is how small the research and data share of outbound can be once it's automated: CIENCE prices its platform alone at $499 a month and its campaign team at $2,000, and both sit on top of the SDR fee.
Pros and limits of outsourcing sales
Pros
- Speed. CIENCE says campaigns go live in less than 14 days. Hiring and ramping an in-house SDR takes far longer, and the Bridge Group puts ramp alone at 3.0 months.
- No management load. The vendor recruits, coaches and replaces SDRs. SalesRoads includes an SDR performance coach and SalesHive includes call review and coaching.
- Flexible commitment. CIENCE, SalesRoads and SalesHive all describe month-to-month terms, so you can test a market and stop.
- Infrastructure included. CIENCE's setup includes email, phone and LinkedIn infrastructure with protected domains, and SalesHive includes its power dialer, data and list building.
Limits
- You pay for research inside a people fee. List building, enrichment and personalization are bundled into retainers, so you can't see or reuse that work separately.
- Knowledge leaves with the vendor. Messaging tests, objection notes and call recordings build up in the agency's systems unless your contract says otherwise.
- Brand and legal exposure stays with you. The FTC says that even when you hire another company to send email for you, "you can't contract away your legal responsibility" under CAN-SPAM, and there's no exception for business-to-business email.
- No guaranteed results. SalesHive says plainly that it doesn't guarantee a number of meetings because results depend on your offer and market. That's an honest answer, and it applies to every vendor.
Bitscale addresses the first two limits: the lists, enrichment and research live in your workspace and sync to your CRM, whoever sends the emails.
Outsource vs build in-house vs automate with Bitscale

| Outsource to an SDR agency | Build an in-house SDR team | Automate in-house with Bitscale | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time to first outreach | CIENCE: under 14 days | Recruiting plus 3.0 months average ramp | Start on the free plan; Enterprise production setup in 4 weeks |
| Who owns lists and data | Depends on the contract | You | You, in your CRM through two-way sync |
| Who has the conversations | Vendor SDRs | Your SDRs | Your founder, AEs or SDRs |
| Management load | Low | High | Low; GTM engineer support on every paid plan |
| Monthly cost, one seat | From $4,249/mo to $11,950 per 4 weeks | About $9,524 loaded (illustration) | $349 (Growth) or $799 (Booster) |
| Best for | Fast market tests, no sales leader | Complex, long-term sales | Lean teams who lose the week to research |
The three options combine. One sensible path is to automate the research layer first, then decide whether you need more people. If you do, they spend their time on conversations rather than on spreadsheets. Our comparison of AI SDRs and human SDRs covers how to split that work, and AI SDR tools in 2026 covers whether software can replace the role outright.
Choose outsourcing if you need meetings this quarter, have AEs with open calendars, and don't have a sales leader to hire and coach SDRs.
Choose in-house if your deals involve buying committees, technical evaluation or long cycles, and you plan to sell into this market for years.
Choose Bitscale if someone on your team can hold the conversations, and what's really missing is accurate lists, verified contact data and a reason to reach out to each account.
How to evaluate a B2B sales outsourcing company

The 10-point vendor checklist
- ICP fit. Has the vendor booked meetings with your buyer's title, company size and industry? Ask for two references in your segment.
- Meeting definition. Agree in writing what counts: booked or held, which titles, which company sizes, and what happens with no-shows.
- SDR dedication. Dedicated or shared? SalesRoads and SalesHive both state that SDRs are dedicated. Ask every vendor.
- Data sources. Where do the lists come from, how are emails verified, and what is the bounce rate? Bitscale publishes its own bar: verified results and bounce rates below 0.5%.
- Sending infrastructure. Whose domains send the email? Ask for SPF, DKIM and DMARC setup and spam-rate reporting. Gmail asks senders to keep spam rates below 0.3%.
- CRM access. Every touch, reply and meeting should land in your CRM. SalesHive lists two-way CRM sync and SalesRoads lists CRM integration.
- Reporting. Weekly activity, replies, meetings held and pipeline created, not just emails sent.
- Messaging control. You approve copy before launch. SalesHive, for example, says you owe nothing until you approve everything for launch.
- Compliance. Opt-outs honored across every channel, and a named owner for CAN-SPAM and GDPR questions.
- Exit plan. What you keep when the contract ends: lists, contact data, call recordings, sequences and domains.
Questions to ask on the sales call
- What share of our fee pays for people, and what share pays for data and tools?
- Who writes the messaging, and how often is it tested and changed?
- What happens when an SDR leaves mid-contract?
- Can we see the raw activity, not just a summary deck?
- Which data and enrichment tools do you use, and can we connect our own?
The last question matters more than it looks. If the vendor builds on a data platform, you can ask to run that layer in your own workspace. With Bitscale, the lists, enrichment and signals stay in your account and your CRM, so a vendor change doesn't reset your data.
Contract red flags
- Long minimum terms before any proof. CIENCE, SalesRoads and SalesHive all describe month-to-month terms, so a 12-month lock-in for a first engagement deserves a hard question.
- Setup fees with no amount and no deliverable. If there's a setup fee, the contract should name the price and what you receive.
- A loose meeting definition on per-meeting pricing. Paying for booked rather than held meetings shifts no-show risk to you.
- Vendor-owned data and domains. If the agency owns the lists, contact records and sending domains, you start again from zero when you leave.
- No CRM access. If activity lives only in the vendor's tools, you can't audit it.
- No compliance clause. The FTC is clear that both the company being promoted and the company sending can be held responsible, at up to $53,088 per violating email.
- Guaranteed meeting counts with no conditions. Results depend on your offer and market, as SalesHive itself notes.
How Bitscale helps
Bitscale is not an agency. It's the GTM data layer for your CRM, and it does the research and data work that outsourcing fees bundle in, so your own team, or a smaller one, can run outbound.
- AI research agent. BitAgent does the research a rep would do across browser tabs, row by row: it reads the company's own website first, then searches Google, and writes a clean answer into your grid. You test it on five rows, tune the prompt, then run it on the full list, and you can schedule it to re-run daily or weekly.
- Lists and verified contacts. One waterfall sequences 18+ contact-data providers across 100+ data sources. Bitscale reports 95% email and phone coverage, with every result verified before it reaches your CRM and bounce rates below 0.5%. Credits are spent only when a provider returns a valid result.
- A reason to reach out. Bitscale tracks 15 buying triggers, including exec hires, tech-stack changes, viral posts and funding events, and you can stack them, for example Series B plus hiring SDRs plus a new VP Sales.
- Personalization and sending. With automated outbound, Bitscale scores each account against your ICP, turns each signal into an AI-drafted one-line value proposition, and pushes the finished sequence to Instantly or HeyReach without a CSV export.
- Ready-made playbooks. Playbooks such as Competitors Prospecting, Champion Job-Change Tracker, LinkedIn Conversational Intent and G2 Competitor Review Outreach start you from a working workflow instead of a blank grid.
- Your CRM stays the system of record. Two-way sync with HubSpot on Growth and Salesforce on Booster writes back only the fields that changed, and replies and statuses from automated outbound sync back too.
- Done-for-you setup. Bitscale GTM engineers set up workflows and migrate existing ones for you. Every paid plan includes GTM engineer support, and on Enterprise a dedicated GTM engineer builds your production pipelines, deployed in 4 weeks.
Sayan Das, Head of Outbound at Scrut Automation, described the shift: "Instead of guessing who might need compliance automation, Bitscale tells us which companies are actively showing signals — a new CISO hire, a Series B close, a compliance job posting. We reach them before they even know what tool they want."
If you still hire an agency, Bitscale works alongside it. Keep the lists, enrichment and signals in your own workspace and CRM, and give the agency the accounts to work. ScaleStation, the consultancy mentioned above, connects HubSpot to Bitscale and pushes enriched records back to HubSpot.
For the wider tool landscape, our guide to B2B prospecting tools compares 10 platforms, and SDR automation covers which SDR tasks to automate first.

What is B2B sales outsourcing?
B2B sales outsourcing is hiring an outside company to run part of your sales process, most often outbound prospecting and appointment setting. The vendor supplies SDRs, playbooks, data and sending infrastructure, and books meetings for your account executives.
How much does it cost to outsource an SDR?
Published prices vary. CIENCE lists a US or Europe SDR from $3,500 a month plus a $2,000 campaign team and a $499 platform, before bonuses. SalesRoads lists one SDR at $11,950 per four weeks. Many vendors, including SalesHive and Belkins, quote custom prices.
Is outsourcing sales cheaper than hiring an SDR?
Sometimes. The Bridge Group's median SDR OTE is $80,000, before benefits, tools and a three-month ramp. Outsourcing can cost less at the low end, but SalesRoads' list price exceeds our illustrative loaded in-house cost. Automating research with Bitscale costs $349 a month.
What should I look for in a B2B sales outsourcing company?
Look for proven results with your buyer, a written meeting definition, dedicated SDRs, verified data, your own domains, full CRM access, weekly pipeline reporting, copy approval, compliance ownership and a clear exit plan that lets you keep lists, data and recordings.
Can I outsource lead generation but keep sales in-house?
Yes. Many teams outsource list building or appointment setting and keep closing in-house. Others automate list building, enrichment and research with a platform like Bitscale, so their own SDRs or AEs spend their time on conversations.
Do GTM agencies use Bitscale?
Some do. ScaleStation, a London B2B growth and sales consultancy, runs its HubSpot enrichment on Bitscale, and Bitscale's Enterprise plan is listed for agencies and enterprises. Ask any agency which data tools it uses and whether you can own that workspace.
