Overview

Delta State University is a public university located in Cleveland, Mississippi, established in 1924. Originally founded as Delta State Teachers College, it opened its doors in 1925 with a small faculty and student body. Over the years, the university has evolved, changing its name to Delta State College in 1955 and finally to Delta State University in 1974. It gained full accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in 1963 and began offering graduate programs in 1965.

The university offers diverse undergraduate and graduate degrees spanning arts, sciences, business, nursing, and education. Its academic structure features the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, School of Graduate Studies, and a dedicated School of Nursing.
