Overview

ICONTEC (Instituto Colombiano de Normas Técnicas y Certificación) is a private, non-profit organization established in 1963 and headquartered in Bogotá, Colombia. Serving as the national standardization body, ICONTEC promotes technical standards, certification, metrology, quality management, and sustainable development throughout Colombia and the Americas.

With a network of approximately 250 committees, the organization brings together industry, consumers, academia, and government to coordinate the development of national technical standards. ICONTEC aligns Colombian standards with international best practices, fosters regulatory compliance, and offers services in standardization, certification, training, and validation of Clean Development Mechanism projects.
