Overview

Located in Denmark, South Carolina, this private historically black university was founded in 1897 by Elizabeth Evelyn Wright. Originally established as the Denmark Industrial School for African Americans, the institution has evolved through several name changes and became Voorhees University in 2022. Its campus covers 350 acres and serves approximately 600 students, fostering a strong sense of community and student life.

The university offers bachelor's degrees in numerous disciplines, including accounting, biology, business, and criminal justice.
