Overview

The University of Liverpool is a public research university located in Liverpool, England. Founded in 1881, it became a royal charter institution in 1903. As one of the original "red brick" civic universities and a founding member of the Russell Group, it has a strong global presence, with around 7,700 international and EU students from over 127 countries.

Organized into three faculties with 35 departments and schools, the university offers more than 230 first-degree courses across 103 subjects and is celebrated for pioneering contributions to several academic fields. It holds a rich history of research achievements, including the world's first public radio transmission and the first surgical X-ray in the UK. The institution also operates Liverpool University Press and has established campuses in China and London.
