Overview

The Mission Statement is, "Rekindling Hope in Today's Youth." When combined with the purpose statement, "To provide services for young people and families in pursuit of a brighter tomorrow," a truth emerges: the power of hope to transform lives. The organization's mission statement not only defines what it does, but the difference it seeks to make. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Everything that is done in the world is done by hope."

As a Christian organization, importance is placed on good values, such as hope. However, such values are viewed as useful only when they become meaningful to the individual young people who utilize the programs. Hope encompasses many elements: recognizing self-worth, developing a vision for the future, learning essential life skills, finding rewarding professions, experiencing safety, building supportive relationships, finding love, and knowing there is a loving God. Nurturing this vision can take years, but when young people believe these things are possible, their hope becomes transformative.
