South Louisiana Community College

Overview

Founded in 1997, this public community college serves the Acadiana region across eight parishes in Louisiana, operating nine campuses with its main campus in Lafayette. The college is committed to providing accessible higher education opportunities to rural and regional communities and enrolls between 7,000 to nearly 12,000 students each year.

More than 50 academic and vocational programs are offered, spanning associate degrees, transfer degrees, technical diplomas, and certifications. Students benefit from a wide selection of courses across general education, technical training, health sciences, and dual enrollment options for local high schoolers, including Louisiana's pioneering Early College Academy. The institution is led by Chancellor Vincent G. June and is guided by its motto, "Know. Know How."
