Providence Health & Services is a not-for-profit Catholic healthcare system based in Renton, Washington. Established in 1859 by the Sisters of Providence, it has grown to become one of the largest integrated health systems in the western United States after merging with St. Joseph Health in 2016. Providence operates across seven states, including Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.
The system includes 51 hospitals, over 1,000 clinics and health centers, and more than 800 non-acute facilities, employing approximately 125,000 caregivers. Providence offers a wide range of healthcare services, such as outpatient care, home and hospice services, mental health treatment, and virtual visit options. Additionally, Providence Medical Group operates over 250 clinics with a diverse team of more than 1,600 physicians.
