Overview

Parkland College is a public community college located in Champaign, Illinois, serving Community College District 505. Established in 1966, it has welcomed over 340,000 students and currently enrolls around 12,000 students each year. The college's mission is to engage the community in learning, and it offers a variety of vocational-technical and academic programs known for their excellence.

The main campus covers 255 acres and is strategically positioned to serve 54 communities across 12 counties. In addition to the main campus, there are instructional locations, including a site on Mattis Avenue and the Institute of Aviation at the University of Illinois Willard Airport. The college provides distance learning courses and a range of student support services, including a Child Development Center and a student-run music production studio. Parkland College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Higher Learning Commission, since 1972, and is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by district residents.
