The museum opened its Iconoclast building in 2006, featuring 25,000 square feet of gallery space, and expanded with the Pavilion in 2018, which adds 50,000 square feet of exhibition space.

The museum emphasizes low crowd density to foster meaningful encounters with art. Its collection includes significant works from artists like Willem de Kooning, Lee Krasner, and Ruth Asawa, as well as site-specific installations. Visitors can explore the 300-acre grounds with walking trails, outdoor sculptures, and beautifully designed spaces that foster contemplation. Admission is free, but advance scheduling is required.
