Girl Scouts of Nassau County

Overview

Committed to empowering girls in Nassau County, New York, this non-profit organization has supported over 11,472 girl members and nearly 16,000 participants, including adult volunteers and lifetime members. For more than a century, it has fostered leadership development, community service, and experiential learning, remaining true to the Girl Scouts mission first established by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912.

The organization provides the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, offering hands-on learning in STEM, outdoor activities, healthy relationships, and financial literacy. Programs are available for girls from kindergarten through high school, featuring grade-level activities, camps, and community events. Through partnerships with over 250 local organizations, learning opportunities and civic engagement are enhanced. Special initiatives encourage members to explore history, give back, and embrace inclusivity and social change.
