Overview

Columbus Consolidated Government (CCG) is Georgia's first consolidated city-county government, formed by merging the city of Columbus and Muscogee County. This innovative structure aims to provide efficient and responsive local governance by combining the powers and responsibilities typically held by separate city and county entities. CCG has been recognized for its effective budget process and was named one of America's top 50 best-run cities in 2016.

CCG offers a variety of municipal services through specialized departments. The 311 Citizen Services department assists residents with inquiries and support. The Planning Department oversees land use, zoning, and development, and is currently working on a Safety Action Plan for safer streets. The Department of Human Resources provides support for CCG employees, while the Tax and Assessment Services department ensures public access to important records. CCG is dedicated to enhancing infrastructure, public safety, and urban development for the community of Columbus, Georgia.
