Overview

Children's Home Society of North Carolina is the largest private, non-profit child welfare agency in the state. Since its founding in 1902, the organization has provided essential services for homeless children and expanded to support families across all 100 counties in North Carolina. Each year, it impacts over 20,000 families, advocating for the right of every child to have a permanent, safe, and loving family.

The organization delivers a wide range of evidence-based services such as adoption and permanency services, foster care, family preservation, and support programs. Other offerings include home visiting services, educational initiatives, and trauma-informed care to meet complex needs of children and families. With a focus on keeping children safely with their families and improving outcomes for those in foster care, it launched The Institute for Family in 2020 to foster innovation and systemic change.
