Cégep Garneau

Overview

Cégep Garneau is a public French-language college located in Quebec City, Canada. Founded in 1969, it emerged from the merger of the Collège des Jésuites and École normale Laval. The college is named after François-Xavier Garneau, a notable French Canadian figure. It serves approximately 6,000 to 8,000 students in both regular and continuing education programs.

The college offers two main types of academic programs: two-year pre-university programs that prepare students for university studies, and three-year technical programs designed for direct entry into the workforce. Some technical programs include Dental Hygiene, Nursing Care, and Information Technology. The institution also features a Continuing Education Centre with flexible scheduling and specialized courses, as well as a vibrant campus life with elite sports teams and a dedicated Languages department for English support.
