Overview

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is located in Cape Town, South Africa. Established on January 1, 2005, through the merger of the Cape Technikon and Peninsula Technikon, it is the only university of technology in the Western Cape and the largest in the region, serving over 32,000 students. CPUT has a rich history dating back to 1920.

The university comprises six faculties: Applied Science, Business and Management Sciences, Education, Informatics and Design, Engineering and the Built Environment, and Health and Wellness Sciences. CPUT offers nearly 100 career-focused courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Technology. It operates multiple campuses, including the Bellville Campus, which serves as the administrative center, and the Cape Town Campus, home to the Cape Town Hotel School.

In addition to its academic programs, CPUT supports innovation in the clothing and textile industries through the Clothing and Textile Technology Station, which has assisted numerous small and medium enterprises. The university aims to be Africa's leading Smart University of Technology, focusing on innovation and the development of graduates who contribute positively to society.
