Austal Limited is an Australian shipbuilder known for designing and constructing high-speed commercial and defense vessels. It is one of Australia's largest defense exporters and the first shipbuilder listed on the ASX. Founded in 1987 by John Rothwell, the company has grown significantly, operating major shipbuilding facilities in Western Australia and the United States.

The company specializes in a range of vessels, including high-speed passenger catamarans, vehicle-passenger ferries, and military ships such as the U.S. Navy's Independence-class littoral combat ships and Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport vessels. It has delivered over 350 vessels to customers in 59 countries, with clients including the United States Navy and Coast Guard, as well as commercial ferry operators across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. As of 2025, Austal reported a total revenue of approximately $1.87 billion.
